The included wireless USB dongle is easily recognized by Windows and Mac machines, and after you switch on the power switch on the base of the mouse, you are ready to go. Some Wireless mice can be pain when you have to replace the batteries. The Revolution MX solves this problem by integrating a rechargeable battery. The included charging stand is simple and stylish, although it does require wall power (no USB charging). You will have to use the stand a lot, because the battery life in the mouse will last you about a day. Installation is a breeze. Plug in the charger. Turn on the mini switch on the back of the mouse. Pop the USB receiver into a USB port. (It is so tiny; it is the size of 2 USB plugs altogether.) then use the auto install on the CD. Then shut down, remove your old mouse, and reboot. Done. By the way, the lithium battery had a sufficient charge right out of the box. You’re up and running in a couple of minutes.

Actually I’ve had two separate MX Revolution mice during the past 10 months since the first one lasted a few months before behaving erratically. I know I will be heavily criticized for this review since most on here are positive but I’m just relaying my honest opinions as objectively as possible here.
I owned a Copperhead before I bought this mouse so the weight, thickness and the flatness of the Deathadder were a pretty big difference. This mouse isn’t half as nimble as the copperhead because the copperhead has angled edges that allow you to rotate your wrist just slightly when you move the mouse from side to side. It allows you to move the mouse much quicker because you don’t have to lift it off the mat at a totally straight angle. You can’t do that with the Deathadder because it doesn’t have angled edges that taper upwards like the Copperhead. It feels very stiff and slow in comparison.

This mouse is not perfect but I would have given it a 4.5 so I upgraded it to a 5.
For my large hands this mouse feels just right. It moves well on my nylon mat that I use for a pad and I have tried it on a hardwood desktop with good results. The mouse has very good yaw and pitch movement and it is easy to adjust dpi setting on the fly.

I normally don’t post reviews, but felt I owed it to the girl gamer community
This mouse is way too big for my hand and I am tall and don’t have the smallest hands. SO if you are a guy and your hands are on the small side, you may want to stray from this mouse as well. My thumb barely reaches the two side buttons (4 & 5) I found I had to turn my hand awkwardly on the mouse to be able to hit them comfortably. Even the middle mouse button is a stretch, but is sensitive enough its a little less cumbersome.

The G5 is a durable, well designed mouse. I have been using it for over a year now with no problems. It’s very comfortable in the hand and the ability to add or subract weight from it (by adding little weights that fit inside on the bottom) makes it perfect for the gamer. By adding or subtracting weight you can get the feel and the flow that you are looking for. Once you find that “sweet spot” weight, you will really get spoiled by this mouse.

I’ve been a Logitech gaming-mouse user/lover for a long time. In fact, the last four mice I’ve used with my gaming rig have been the MX510 (Blue), MX518, G5 (1st version) and now the G9.

If you are a claw grip user like me, which means you hold and move your mouse with your fingers without moving your arm, then this mouse might not be for you. Claw users love the precision and speed that we can move the mouse in games versus the whole-arm movement of palm users. If I need extra pixel by pixel precision such as Photoshop work, then as a claw user I can place my thumb and right 2 fingers on the mouse pad and slowly guide the mouse around.

The Pros:

• Incredible tracking with 4000 DPI
• Wireless with awesome battery life
• Customizable buttons
• Best cordless system there is
• No lag
• Button placement is perfect
• Button and wheel click just feels right
• Lots of buttons and easy to use software to program the buttons, which is great for games where many buttons are necessary such as MMOs.
• Comfortable – I especially liked the vertical thumb buttons instead of the horizontal ones that typically appear on mice and make you feel like you have to reach to get to the far one.
• Fun styling: The tracking technology is excellent and really does work just about everywhere
  Wireless is nice (while battery life holds out) and very responsive – I can’t tell the difference between this mouse and a wired mouse for responsiveness.

The Cons:

• It does not have the best mouse feet pads
• Not for people with really small hands
• It has a questionable grip
• Clicker is very slippery
• Rear bottom of mouse curves up. This causes it to do wheelies if you put much weight on the back of the mouse. This is very easy due to the tall hump at the rear of the unit.
• A bit heavy, making fingertip precision movements in fast-paced games difficult
• Battery life – battery life was excellent at first (lasting 3-4 days), but I found that after about six months the battery would only last a day before having to be recharged. I ended up just leaving the charger plugged in full time. Even when I replaced the battery with a different rechargeable AA, it never achieved the same battery life as before.

This mouse is the best mouse I have owned and I like it better than any Logitech mouse. There I have said it.
To start off with this matches and compliments my Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard. While this mouse is not for small hands, my hand is of normal size and the mouse feels good. The mouse comes with the Intellipoint software where you can really gear the mouse up as you would like. The X8 Mouse is a gaming cordless USB drive mouse with a round disk with one end plugged into a USB slot and then it gives a cord that rolls out from the disk that you attach to the base of the mouse when you want to recharge or use it as a corded mouse. It is the best of both worlds.

Received in 2 days , plugged in and worked flawlessly, but for my hand size(med-large), this mouse was very uncomfortable. It is a little flatter than I am used too, with no hump in the middle to provide support,and I found my handing gravitating toward the back of the mouse. I had to ‘claw’ grip this mouse, with thumb and pinky finger having to grip sides of the mouse and it soon became very uncomfortable.

The Logitech G7 cordless laser mouse is an impressive piece of PC hardware. More often than not for the casual PC user the mouse is overlooked (unless you still have one of those ancient ball mice where you have to pull out the ball and clean the rollers every other day), so Logitech smartly marketed their high end (in price and quality) G7 mouse toward the hardcore gamer segment, the segment who needs the best technology and needs it now. And its main draw–the accuracy and sensitivity of the mouse– is geared towards that segment of FPS freaks who need that added edge of being more accurate in the sniper role, yet capable of turning and looking as swiftly as possible in the deathmatch or team arenas.
